    Parent Place provides a safe, welcoming and child friendly space with change and feed facilities. Our friendly team can provide you with general support and information about a range of City of Ballarat Family and Children’s Services including:
    • Childcare
    • Kindergarten
    • Playgroups
    • Family Day Care
    • Immunisation
    • Maternal and Child Health Nurses

  • Youth Services

    City of Ballarat Youth Services facilitates an exciting and innovative range of programs for young people aged 12 -25. These programs provide new opportunities to develop personal skills and interests while reating change in the Ballarat community.

    We support young people to lead programs including;

    Volunteering – Youth Council and FReeZA committees.

    Events – Live music, Arts, Cultural, Community, Skate, Pop Con, Rock the Block.

    Social Connection – GirlSpace, Young Men’s Group, Youth Collective,

    Recreation – Pilates, Yoga, Amazing Race, FitBox, Ten Pin Bowling, Gym sessions, Stand Up paddle boarding,

    Youth Facilitated Workshops – pod casts, rap writing, screen printing, street art, film/photography, music and beat making, performance poetry, zines, arts

    Enterprise Skills – Entrepreneur workshops, event & project management, facilitator training

    Life Skills – First Aid, Barista Training, Cooking workshops

    Forums– Ballarat Young Global Ambassadors, Victorian Youth Week, Mental Health and Wellbeing,

    Involvement in Decision Making – Consultation and advocacy, meet with Councillors and community leaders,

    Leadership – Roads to Leadership, Western Bulldogs Leadership Program, community leader mentoring.

  • FReeZA

    FReeZA is a Victorian Government funded initiative that gives young people the opportunity to lead the planning and staging of live music and cultural events within their local communities. The program gives all participants hands-on experience and training in the Australian music industry through extensive event management, mentoring and networking opportunities.

  • Sonika

    Sonika is the City of Ballarat Youth Services' FReeZA committee. Sonika meet regularly and work with a project worker to plan various projects and events and gain event management skills. Sonika members are able to participate in a range of training such as FReeZA | The Push - which provides accredited training opportunities, recognised by employers. Sonika also runs a range of free or cheap all ages events that are drug, alcohol and smoke free.

  • Youth Council

    Youth Council is made up of young people who are passionate about being involved in their community and representing the views, ideas and needs of youth in the Ballarat area. 

    Throughout their term, Youth Councillors develop their skills in areas such as project management, cultural competency, media and communication, and are given unique opportunities to develop their community networks and leadership skills. 

    Utilising their new skills, Youth Councillors lead projects and campaigns, and advocate for young people in the community

    Youth Council is led by young people and supported by the Youth Services team.
