Highlands LLEN (Local Learning and Employment Network) is one of 31 LLENs across Victoria. LLENs have a particular focus on young people at risk of disengaging, or who have already disengaged, from education and training and are not in meaningful employment. Highlands LLEN is active in a range of networks and partnerships that support the capacity of education staff and community members to better identify and support young people who are at risk of disengaging, or have already disengaged from education. Our Vision is that all young people in our communities are provided opportunities to successfully engage in education, training or employment. It is our mission to create and maintain partnerships that support a range of learning and pathway options for all young people within our communities.
Highlands LLEN also has a dedicated Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) Coordinator who sources placements with local businesses and organisations for VET and VCAL students, advertising these on the SWL Statewide Portal.
Our VET Cluster program coordinates Vocational Education and Training Certificates for hundreds of senior secondary students within and beyond our region.
The Highlands LLEN Region covers the City of Ballarat and the Shires of Hepburn, Moorabool, Pyrenees and the northern half of Golden Plains.
